49th Annual Blue Water /Port Huron Kiwanis Club "Breakfast at Dockside" Mackinac Race Morning, July 18 from 7 - 11 AM.
The 49th Annual Breakfast at Dockside will be held on Mackinac Race Morning, Saturday, July 18. The breakfast is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of the Blue Water Area/ Port Huron. The breakfast will be held from 7:00 am to 11:00 am in the dockside parking garage, underneath Huntington Bank on Water Street in downtown Port Huron. Club members will be serving all you can eat pancakes, sausage, French toast, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee and milk. Cost for the breakfast is $12, Children 5-12 years of age are $8 and children under 5 are free. Tickets are available at the door. The club is also selling their annual Mackinac Race T-shirts which will be available at the breakfast.
“Over the years, the breakfast has become the place to watch as the sailors prepare their boats for start of the race,” says John Pidick, President of the Kiwanis Club of the Blue Water Area/Port Huron. “Many crew members also come to the breakfast, giving people the chance to talk with sailors about the race and their boats as well.”
Established in 1972, the Kiwanis Club of the Blue Water Area / Port Huron, is affiliated with Kiwanis International. The Kiwanis motto is “Serving the Children of the World.” Proceeds from the breakfast will help support local children’s programs such as RESA’s Homeless Youth program, Imagination Library, St. Clair County Children’s Library youth programs, SONS, Camp Carvell, A Beautiful Me, Kids in Distress, Port Huron Salvation Army, and many others.
