Olde Town Churches 'Advent Lunch and a Message'

For three Thursdays in Advent -- December 4, 11, 18 -- the churches in Port Huron's Olde Town district put on a lunch and brief message to everyone in the community. Lunch is served at noon; brief Advent message from one of our Olde Town pastors follows. This year's theme is "No Room" -- Like an overloaded outlet, our lives are maxed out so that there is no room for Christ. We use Advent as a reflection on our need for Jesus to come and set us free from the confining space we place ourselves within, opening space for God in our lives. A freewill offering (baskets on the tables) goes to the Food Pantry at St. John's UCC to serve the people in the Olde Town area. The Olde Town Churches include: Grace Episcopal, Holy Trinity Parish, Our Savior Lutheran, St. John's UCC, Trinity Lutheran, St. Paul's Lutheran, St. Martin Lutheran, First Presbyterian, and First United Methodist.
